The Shanti Maurice luxury boutique hotel

The Shanti Maurice is a luxury boutique hotel, found close to the Indian Ocean and lush green sugarcane fields, located around a pristine coral sand cove, on the south coast of Mauritius. The small town of St Felix is quite close, if you get bored, but the award-winning spa and 61 spacious suites and villas, spread across a 36-acre landscape of tropical gardens will keep you busy.

Among the 17 villas, there’s also a presidential one and they’re all located on the beach-front, allowing guests to enjoy the Indian Ocean. They’ll also enjoy a private pool, outdoor rain shower and dining pavilion. Now, that’s the life, kickin’ back and savoring the contemporary design and perfect blend between Mauritian and African culture and style.
The Nira Spa is the place to go if you’re feeling stressed out. It’s built around a magnificent tea pavilion, surrounded by lily ponds and indigenous flowers. The sunset ‘sega ritual’ is a holistic treatment, performed on a beach with a live band and bonfire. The spa will also offer fricology and ayurveda treatments. If you’re feeling hungry, organic and locally sourced produce will probably have to do, as it is is served in some of Shanti’s nine restaurants and bars. Other attractions worth mentioning include the hotel’s Rum Shed opened in 2014, and is a shabby-chic rum shop designed in traditional style. Get packing!
