Mercedes SLK 55 AMG Will Arrive in India by December

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the Mercedes SLK 55 AMG will be launched in India on 2 December 2013.

The SLK 55 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 motor that punches out 421 hp. Thanks to this more than healthy output, the SLK accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top-speed of 250 km/h.

The car is driven through an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed automatic transmission which offers three driving modes—Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M).

The new model is about 30% more resourceful than the previous version with a fuel efficiency of 11.89 km/l (in the UK driving cycle) and CO2 emissions of 195 g/km.

Two cylinders on each bank are shut off when the load on the engine is less, and a start-stop system is included as well.

To differentiate the SLK 55 AMG from the regular SLK, visually and mechanically, AMG fits the car with front and rear aprons and side skirting, ventilated and perforated disc brakes, AMG sports suspension, Nappa leather upholstery, and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.

To improve the handling and responsiveness, the regular brakes and steering are upgraded to performance-oriented Torque Vectoring Brake and AMG Direct-Steer system.

Where do you think Mercedes-Benz India will price it at?
