Mercedes-Benz-AMG-Vision-Gran-Turismo-1

Mercedes-Benz-AMG-Vision-Gran-Turismo-1

Mercedes-Benz has done it again! Dropped my jaw and taught me a few about what a GT car really meands, by fully revealing their Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept. Its purpose it to be featured in the latest installment of the Gran Turismo franchise, out on December 6. I’d love to watch this Mercedes pass me by on the streets. Wow!
That won’t be happening any time soon, but at least Mercedes allowed us to enjoy a 1:1 scale model of the thrilling super-car. The front-engined vehicle was revealed at the opening of their Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California and was envisioned with a rear-wheel drive arrangement and gullwing doors. The Vision is powered by an AMG V8 engine delivering 577 bhp (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque, while the bodywork weighs 3,053 lbs (1,384 kg). The prototype features AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes and eight tailpipes at the back. You know that sound could turn on any petrol-head in an instant, right?!
No details or pics of the interior, but Mercedes-Benz claim the Vision Gran Turismo comes with an F1-inspired cockpit with red integral sport seats that blend into the black flooring of the footwell. The cool center display floats above the racing steering wheel, providing all the necessary data. You might feel like in a spaceship, since operation is handled via the rocker switches placed in the dashboard’s center and the overhead console. The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo will be available, but only as downloadable content exclusively for GranTurismo 6 – out on December 6 on the PlayStation 3. I’m quite sure some Dubai-located Mercedes fans will ask for the Vision to become a reality. Can’t wait!
