Instagram App on Windows Phone 8 Now

Instagram app available today on Windows Phone 8
After months of speculation Instagram has finally arrived on Windows Phone 8 and whilst it's only in Beta the company has promised new content and additions.

Instagram is now available for free on Windows Phone 8, the app launches with the ability to take pictures from within the app using either the front or rear-facing camera.

Only recently at a Nokia event Stephen Elop confirmed that both Vine and Instagram would be arriving on Nokia Lumia handsets which would in turn mean the apps would be arriving on Windows Phone 8.

In a statement on Instagram's website the company said, "We wanted to make Instagram available to people with Windows Phones as quickly as possible, so we focused on creating an awesome experience with Instagram’s core features."
"We’re not finished, and our team will continue developing the Windows Phone app to keep releasing features and bringing you the best Instagram possible."
Instagram is one of the last 'core' apps to arrive on Microsoft's mobile platform and whilst it won't come with the ability to take video the company has already confirmed that it will be adding a range of features found on the iOS and Android versions over time.
What the Windows Phone 8 version does offer however is the ability to utilise Live Tiles, with the app showing update information whilst some new gestures have been added along with a cleaner UI.
Interestingly the traditional Instagram icon has been changed to fit in with the WP8 design language, something that the company hasn't yet done with the iOS version for Apple iOS 7.
