Hennessey showing off the McLaren MP4-12C HPE700

Hennessey showing off the McLaren MP4-12C HPE700

No way around it, McLaren has been an exclusivity brand, tending to eccentric clients and baring in mind one thing: breaking the rules and bending the limits. The McLaren MP4-12C certainly proves that theory; yet, Hennessey has bigger things in mind: introducing their new HPE700 tuning program for the McLaren MP4-12C.
However, the supercar is looking tastefully restrained, showing off a stock appearance that won’t get anyone suspicious, until you notice the discrete Hennessey and HPE700 badges. IT’s the same, if you consider the interior, where the cabin modifications are limited to a small serial-numbered dash plaque.
Just pop the hood, and you’ll notice some big changes! Hennessey installed an optimized ECU, an upgraded inter-cooler, dual air induction filters and a stainless steel sports exhaust system. Thanks to these modifications to the engine bay, the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine produces 704 bhp (525 kW) and 538 lb-ft (728 Nm) of torque – an increase of 88 bhp (65 kW) and 96 lb-ft (130 Nm). This enables the McLaren to fly from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and run the quarter mile in 10.3 seconds at 137 mph (220 km/h). Should be enough to satisfy anyone!
