The Forest Of Denial

ever since essie brought out their drugstore line for boots and superdrug, it's been a very hyped up brand around the twitterverse. from the incredible and millie mackintosh showing her love for the summer famous mint candy apple, to the bikini so teeny, every and their mother seemed to be snapping up these cute and indulgent polishes. at £7.99 a pop, they're definietly more expensive than my all time favourite barry m polishes, but still affordable if there's something there you really love.

i'd only owned one essie polish before, and it's the mint candy apple. i love love, love, love, love it! i was very tempted by the bikini so teeny when it was so popular, but i own the barry m berry lilac and don't wear it all that often, so i managed to persuade myself against it. always with a new colour in my mind, i set out to find a lovely deep dark green and spotted this one from essies fall collection 'stylenomics'i was excited to try this as i've only heard good things about essie and love deep autumnal tones. however i was a bit dissapointed with it. in the bottle it looks like a deep forest weathered green, but on my nails it just appeared black. whether it be my skin tone or the polish, i'm unsure but looking at online swatches it can appear greener than i recieved so maybe my pale skin doesn't compliment this.never the less i'm not essies newest enemy and i will buy from them again, but maybe their brighter colours are better for me rather than theirdarker ones, who knows!
