There is a cloud descending over London Fashion Week that is dark and murky - and for once it's nothing to do with the weather. Rather it is to do with the plethora of make-up artists that are choosing fifty shades of brown to dress eyes and lips backstage.
There is a new MAC Cosmetics eye palette that is particularly causing a stir here (after creating a huge buzz in New York already) simply called The Spring/Summer 2013 palette. A combination of colour correctors for under-the-eye-shadows as well as creamy eye colour shades, there is one shade in there called Must-Have Brown that was specifically used at Sass & Bide and House of Holland. At Kinder Aggugini, lips were dressed with a nude lipstick laced with purple-grey and at Bora Aksu, eyes were washed with a metallic burgundy-taupe.
