Graphic Eyes (Jadool Aankhen)

GEOMETRIC lines at Mary Katrantzou, feline flicks at Lanvin and tiny triangles at Erdem - graphic black liner played a starring role on the autumn/winter 2012-13 catwalks. From stark, modern looks to new riffs on classic styles, it seems that a black liquid liner can be put to use in all manner of different ways for the new season. But, remember, if you're going all-out on the eyes then you need to keep the rest simple.
See Aquascutum, Moschino and Lanvin for your lesson in how to let your eyes do the talking.See Vogue's September issue for the five big beauty trends of the season. LANVIN – Heavy winged liner on top and a smudge of black on the lower lash line made for a graphic look at Lanvin, where Pat McGrath headed up the make-up team.MOSCHINO – The Moschino girls’ bold, flicked liner looks were created by Tom Pecheux, using MAC’s Blacktrack Fluidline liquid liner.ALTUZARRA – Tom Pecheux described the elongated parallel lines he painted onto models’ eyes at Altuzarra as “couture grunge liner”, finishing the look with shimmering MAC Pigment in Blue Brown at the inner corners.

AQUASCUTUM – “Gorgeous, geometric coolness” was how Lucia Pieroni described the squared-off eye at Aquascutum, which offered a modern take on the cat-like eye.
